Update - Planning & Development Industry
Moving forward into 2010 has seen the introduction of several policy and planning provisions affecting planning and development processes.
In streamlining development applications the Department of Infrastructure and Planning (DIP) in cooperation with Local Governments’ have been rolling out the electronic development application system, Smart eDA. Recently, Cairns Regional and Cassowary Regional Council’s have adopted the system in addition to the 10 councils who rolled out the system late last year.
March 2010 has also seen the introduction of sustainability regulations for all new units as a part of the Government’s Cleaner Greener Buildings scheme. From 1 March 2010, all new units are required to achieve a minimum 5 out of 10 star energy equivalence rating to lift environmental standards for new homes and offices in Queensland.
P.A.D. Partners supports the Government’s initiatives to achieve sustainability and streamline development approvals through the Smart eDA system as a long term strategy to supplement a broader solution to foster Queensland’s rapid growth. In response, we are currently undertaking the Smart eDA registration process to ensure that P.A.D. Partners can deliver development approvals to our clients within optimal timeframes.
